So, I’ve decided to try and write a blog eeek! A basic introduction, I’m a mum of two girls and fiancé of an amazing australian head chef (obviously I’m biased but he is bloody good).

I thought it might be fun to document a bit about life as an ‘aussiechefwidow’ – being the partner of someone in the hospitality industry definitely has its challenges, but there are some amazing benefits to this too.

I thought if I talked about some challenges relating to being a chef widow that I could maybe gain advice/insight into how other partners do it…and you never know I may have some advice to offer myself.

Me, well I’m an accountant – I know, you’re now thinking how did a bean counter score a creative partner 😳 and believe you/me I didn’t see it coming, but I’m so grateful that it did! I’ll probably go into that story some other time!

I run my own small bookkeeping business around being a mum – just enough to keep me out of trouble and to give us some family time too…tricky with a shift worker! I’ve also started making silicone teething necklaces – funky necklaces to make mums feel like they’re trying to look good. They’re on facebook and instagram as rubybabynecklaces – check me out 😊

Then, as if working, being a mum and making necklaces isn’t enough – I’ve decided to try this blog too! Pffft, I obviously have a Wonder Woman complex or something – so let’s see how I go (obviously I will kick ass, positive attitude or delusional who knows hehe)

I’m going to try and give a fresh perspective of the highs and lows of being an Aussie chef widow and hopefully have fun along the way, glad you could join me xx
